Brian Kirk and the Jirks, the notorious cover band hailing from the Jersey Shore, was formed in the early 1990’s by lead singer, Brian Kirk. Covering all styles of music from Rock to Pop, Oldies to Reggae, and Standards to Swing with their own unique twist, Brian Kirk and the Jirks have become a household favorite! The band not only has an extremely diverse repertoire but has also released original music, including their hot selling albums Hangover Mondays and most recently, American Life In the Summertime.
Brian Kirk and the Jirks have established themselves as a paramount cover band through the many successes they have accomplished. The release of their two original albums helped put the band on the charts with over 6,000 copies sold. Not only have they headlined with national acts such as Tonic and Better Than Ezra, they have also performed for former Governor Florio at a foundation benefit as well as shared the stage with legendary drummer, T.M. Steven and bassist, Bernard Purdy from the James Brown Band. The band was even profiled on Lifetime Television’s The Men’s Room and was voted the number one band in the 1999 readers’ pole of the Asbury Park Press. Also in 1999, an original song by Kirk and the Jirks became the number one requested song on the Z100 morning show. In October 2000, the band appeared on Channel 12’s Jersey Talking and in June 2001 they appeared on Food Nation with Bobby Flay. A month later in July 2001, the band participated in VH-1’s Cover Wars and performed with renowned singer/songwriter/guitarist, Bruce Springsteen at Donovan’s Reef on Labor Day 2001. Lastly, they were voted the number one band as well as the number one weekly event in the 2001 issue of Night and Day and the band eventually became sponsored by Coor’s Light.
